Prolegomena to the development of infrastructure in EU and Slovenia

Abstract:

Infrastructure is present in our everyday life, but synthetic studies about it are lacking. Empirical study presents basic data and model estimations on development of economic infrastructure in the EU and especially in Slovenia. Investment in infrastructure could be presently useful by improving competitiveness of enterprise sector on the micro level as well as stimulating economic activity as measure against a threat of a new recession on the macro level. Slovenian economic infrastructure lags behind country's general economic development thus making investments in major projects (second rail track, third road line, Port of Koper, energy network, telecommunications) even more important and urgent.
