Forecast of economic conditions in 2015-2016
Gospodarska gibanja 472
Summary
External economic conditions as projected by key international institutions in 2015-2016 will be relatively favorable. The prices of raw materials and energy are to fall, the key ECB interest rates would remain low and the euro should slightly weaken while only world GDP growth and trade are to be low, which is particularly true for the EU.
Domestic conditions will be co-determined by the new government, which took over the economy in solid state, this year's positive results, and optimistic expectations. First acts however justify the fear that the government could with wrong economic-policy measures (austerity) together with the Bank of Slovenia and inadequate or unnecessary systemic reforms (misappropriation of state enterprises, pension reform, the subjugation to Brussels and Germany) suppress production and optimism.
